The head-trainer and founder of Inquisitive K9, Kara Goodrich has dedicated her life to the raising and training animals since she was 12 years old when her family got their first dog, a pomeranian named Crystal. Kara would spend her time after school training Crystal all sorts of fun tricks like "shake" and "sit pretty." It wasnt long before Kara realized her passion was teaching dogs new skills. Her family adopted a boxer, Roxy, together they did hobby-level agility learning about all of the structures used in agility. At 18 years old Kara attended her first apprenticeship where she learned how to raise and train therpy dogs to assist patients in hosptials. After completing her apprenticeship Kara went on to work at different dog daycares to further learn more about canine behavior and how to run a successful and safe day care. In 2020 Kara opened up her own dog walking company based in Somerville Massachusetts where she provided structured group and solo walks and applied her training knowledge to add a safe enviorments for her large groups. During this time Kara's self-trained cardiac alert and response service dog, Xena attended her group walks and helped introduce new dogs into the pack. In 2022 Kara wanted to make dog training her full-time gig and found another apprenticeship where she learned in-depth about behavioral modification, competition dogs, relationship-based methods, sport canines and perfecting obedience of all levels including off leash. In September of 2022 Kara welcomed Quiz a belgian malinois into her family. Quiz and Kara will be competing in Protection Sports Association, PSA, in the 2024 seasion as well as goals to achive her Canine Good CItizen Award, Trick Dog Titles and dabbling in Dock Diving! In 2023 Kara welcomed her second malinois Majora who will be competing in the same sports and events as Quiz in the 2025 season.
